The Attachment and Health Disparities Lab focuses on understanding the psychosocial pathways that underlie attachment, minority stress, and health outcomes among young sexual and/or racial/ethnic minority populations. We seek to understand how structural- and individual- minority stressors (i.e., violence, discrimination, and hate) contribute to the mental health, physical health, and health behaviors across the lifespan and the virtual and physical worlds. Further, we analyze how features of close relationships can exacerbate or buffer the negative effects of minority stress on health of marginalized populations.
